Transitional Housing for the homeless in Alameda County
 

Transitional housing for homeless veterans and their familiesTransitional housing is offered in several facilities, including the House of Dignity and, Dignity Commons. We also have 10 beds at the Ashby House at 1621 Ashby Ave.in Berkeley.Residents contribute part of their income and work to help manage the residence.

  • Continues to help break the cycle of unemployment, housing, alcohol/substance abuse, illiteracy, violence, and physical and chronic illnesses
  • Residents can stay up to 18 months while they pay rent, contribute to their community through on-site volunteer work, and remain drug and alcohol free
  • Residents develop individual goals to work on while living at the facility
  • Health care assistance & educational programming
  • Education and training classes
  • Employment counseling and referral
  • Full kitchen services (includes assistance with special diets)
  • Laundry, telephone, and mail services on site
  • Transformation services and training
  • Health care assistance and educational programming
  • Relapse prevention and anger management training
